Is Religion Good for You? Has become a more pressing question, due to the rise of militant Islam and radical secularism. The increasing temptation to give this question a negative answer makes finding an intelligent response to it urgent. The Study Day on the 23rd July 2016 at the Hurtado Centre aims to provide a fruitful basis for exploring the value of religion in the modern age.

Fr Nicholas Austin SJ – is a lecturer in Theology at Heythrop College responsible for pastoral and social studies
‘Is Islam good for you?’
Fr Damian Howard SJ – Vice Director of Heythrop College where he lectures in Theology from the Hurtado Centre he works on Muslim –Christian relations.
‘Is Religion good for Development?’
Sarah Broscombe – Sarah is a learning and development consultant with a background in the third sector including work with Jesuit Missions.
